‘The Final Messenger’ follows Niryn, a teenager who makes a deal with a wealthy family in the chilly Northeast English countryside to spare her own life. The catch? She must lure her fellow humans for their next meal.

Along the way, Niryn meets a girl with flaxen hair who sweetly hums in a tongue no one understands.
Will she stay on this journey of hunting her fellow human, or will she find reprieve from all this blood and mess?

For the background of my novella’s cover, I wanted the background to evoke blood and milk. Below are my attempts,
with the ‘Lychee’ variant used for other projects. Done with the watercolour technique ‘wet-on-wet.’
