Two Volumes, NAFA-UAS Final Year Project
Team Project in collaboration with @aelv.a (Instagram)

‘AAAND CUT!’ is a two-volume zine introducing the public and curious creatives to Singapore’s independent art scene. Both love letter and frustrated reminder to the places that have buckled in past years (The Projector, Phil Studio, Substation) to the venues that still need our active support now (Pearl Hill Terrace, Room 526, Filmhouse, and more)

Volume 01 is a volatile, detailed archival effort of the places we’ve lost over the years, questioning the narrative of Singapore’s need to demolish and subsume independent art spaces into its political body, with interviews and quotes from real venue owners of these spaces.

Volume 02 introduces existing spaces in a more graphical, punchy tone, from a Beyblade tournement and nightclub cafe at Haji Lane, to a dingey industrial gig on the outskirts of the east, to vintage Japanese thrift market pop-up. There’s something for everyone, a true celebration of Singapore’s subcultures.
